Michael J. Critelli has been the Executive Chairman of Pitney Bowes Inc., a $6 billion mailstream solutions company, since May 14, 2007. During the 33 years since he completed his undergraduate education at the University of Wisconsin and was awarded a J.D., cum laude at Harvard Law School, he has had a distinguished career as a company, industry, and community leader.
As Executive Chairman of Pitney Bowes, Mr. Critelli leads the company's focus on the emerging opportunities in the external environment, including postal reform and transformation in the U. S. and globally, and market opportunities arising from the company's innovation and leadership in areas such as health care, government services and corporate social responsibility. He also concentrates on building upon the company's already strong positions in corporate governance.
There are several public policy areas where his passion and expertise have led to both personal and company awards, such as health care and healthy communities. Under his leadership the Company created a culture of health and is a widely recognized innovator in this area. He serves as Chairman of the Board of the Dossia Founders Group, an organization funding an independent non-profit institute to develop a web-based framework through which U.S. employees, dependents and retirees can maintain private, personal, portable and secure health records. He also serves as Chairman of the Board of the Boston University Alzheimer’s Disease Advisory Board, and as Chairman of Governor M. Jodi Rell's Transportation Advisory Commission on reform of the Connecticut Department of Transportation. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Eaton Corporation and the Board of Trustees for the Connecticut Science Center.
