AFPSTATS

Question:
I have heard that there is a feature that is part of IBM?s Print Services Facility (PSF) that allows you gather various pieces of information about your print jobs and I believe it is called AFPSTATS. Can you provide any information about this feature?

Answer:
The feature AFP Statistics, known as AFPSTATS, is a statistical reporting enhancement to PSF that came out in PSF Version 3 Release 3 (V3R3). The feature is used to create reports that contain information about the resources used to print output as well as information about the jobs themselves. Reports produced using AFPSTATS can be printed or viewed online. Some of the uses for the information provided by AFPSTATS include:
    - Application changes
    - Application moves or migration
    - Documentation for recovery
    - Documentation for outsourcing
    - Historical statistical data
    - Problem and performance diagnosis
Check out the PSF documentation available from IBM at: http://www-1.ibm.com/support/search.......
