Twenty-five companies from across the Communications and Content sector nominated in the first Stationers’ Innovation Excellence Awards to be presented at a lunchtime awards ceremony on Monday 30 June.
A panel of judges led by the Master, Tom Hempenstall, is meeting to select finalists from among 25 companies nominated. The Master is supported by broadcaster and business journalist Peter Day and Gerry Flynn from the Technology Strategy Board.
Finalists will be advised that they have been selected to receive awards and, along with all nominated companies, will be invited to send representatives to the awards luncheon on Monday 30 June. Said Awards organiser, Tony Mash: “We are delighted to have received such a strong list of nominations for these, our first awards for Innovation Excellence.” He said the purpose of the awards was to recognise the key role the Communications and Content sector plays in the UK economy by highlighting outstanding innovation able to generate future growth and prosperity for the industries concerned.
It was not the intention of the Stationers’ Company to compete with existing award schemes run by individual trade associations. Indeed, the Company has encouraged Trade Associations in particular to nominate preferred candidates for consideration by the judges. Past award winners of individual Trade Association award schemes have been welcomed for consideration.
