PALO ALTO, Calif., May 13, 2014 – HP today announced that Rotolito Lombarda S.p.A., one of Europe’s largest private printers, has expanded its digital printing capacity with the installation of an HP Indigo 10000 Digital Press. Rotolito is one of the first companies worldwide to purchase an HP Indigo 10000 dedicated for printing books and catalogs.
Established in 1976 as a comic book printer, the company has grown to be a leading print service provider (PSP) servicing publishers and commercial enterprises with operations in Italy, France, UK, Germany, and Scandinavia.
Rotolito Lombarda has invested in the digital printing space since 2010 and continues to advance its offerings with the latest adoption of next generation digital print technology. The company, which also operates HP T410 and T360 Color Inkjet Web Presses, acquired the HP Indigo 10000 Digital Press to help meet increased customer demand for high-quality, cost-effective short-run and customized printing on various substrates.
“Advances in digital printing are changing the publishing industry and investing in the HP Indigo 10000 Digital Press allows our business to be at the forefront of the trends,” said Emanuele Bandecchi, Marketing Manager, Rotolito Lombarda. “We are now poised to digitally recreate conventional offset products like high-quality books, catalogs and book covers more efficiently with quicker turnaround times.”
The B2 HP Indigo 10000 Digital Press makes it possible to digitally print any size application including oversized books, catalogs or covers with flaps on virtually any substrate with high-color quality. The HP ElectroInk technology featured on the new press ensures color consistency across any substrate, provides Pantone® emulations and color flexibility with up to seven ink stations for the widest digital color range available.
“To be more competitive, print service providers must address the growing demand for customized print jobs and shorter run lengths,” said Alon Bar-Shany, vice president and general manager, Indigo Division, HP. “The HP Indigo 10000 expands Rotolito Lombarda’s digital capabilities so they can offer advanced, efficient solutions to existing and new customers, such as customized book covers and high quality, full-color books with quicker turnaround times."
The HP Indigo 10000 provides increased productivity and can lower the cost per copy, than that of SRA3 digital presses, allowing Rotolito Lombarda to produce high-quality products at a cost savings they can pass on to their customers.
