Women of Distinction
The Women of Distinction program was established by OutputLinks in 2002 to recognize the many contributions, achievements and successes of stellar women in high volume transaction output (HVTO) industry. This special recognition spotlights the rich history and ongoing contributions of a unique league of high-profile professionals. The honorees represent a diverse group of executives, educators, technical consultants, document managers, and other HVTO luminaries.

Among the who’s who of the high volume transaction output industry, Leslie Abi-Karam manages a global workforce of some 3,200 employees at Pitney Bowes, where she is accountable for a $750 million international business. Abi-Karam started at Pitney Bowes in 1984 as an industrial engineer, and delivered a digital, web-enabled postage-metering product line meeting global compliance for all regulatory requirements. She also launched a new product line to the mail creation and finishing market space, positioning Pitney Bowes with a competitive advantage, driving increased worldwide revenue and profit. In 2004, she negotiated a $350 million investment in Group 1 Software, the largest acquisition within Pitney Bowes, positioning the company as a leader in customer communications management. Abi-Karam is a member of the Pitney Bowes Strategic Leadership Council and she serves on the Pitney Bowes LEAD Advisory Council. Abi-Karam has a bachelor’s degree from the Northeastern University and an MBA from University of Bridgeport.
